I use it as a cymbal stand for a 22" heavy ride and it's working great (however I don't expand all the pieces fully, no need for such height for a ride cymbal). It's so light that's ridiculous, my bandmates love this stand. I'm going to buy another one. The only downside is that it's only straight with no boom arm but Yamaha told me that I could swap the top part with CH755 or CH750. Such arms will add extra weight obviously but I think it's still worth it.
