Michael Kelly 1953 Blue Jean Wash Electric guitar
Product code: MK53SBJMRO | ID: 219997
Electric guitar with T-style body shape from 1950’s series that features just the right amount of vintage magic which makes it the choice for those who seek a more traditional instrument. Its all-alder body is capped with flame maple and the pickup configuration is vintage traditional – at least that is how it appears. It actually features an MK electronics mod that is called the Quad Mod – as the name implies it offers 4 great sonic options instead of the expected 3 options. The guitar features a 4-way switch that in the fourth switch position provides the sound of both pickups in series – it is like having a nice fat humbucker as those two pickups work together. In reality, the guitar has some nice and hot single-coil Rockfields TexPlus pickups with Alnico V magnets designed especially for this instrument. Body of the instrument further features an alder binding and bolt-on construction. The modern “C”-shaped maple neck with dual action truss rod is fitted with a maple fingerboard with 10.5” radius, 22 medium jumbo and dot inlays. Scale length is 647.7 mm, nut width is 43 mm. Sound of the guitar can be further adjusted via Master Volume and Master Tone controls. Other features include a 1950 headstock, standard bone string nut, chrome hardware, die cast machine heads, a T-style bridge and D’Addario EXL110 strings (.010-.046). Blue Jean Wash colour design. Note: In April 2016, the electronics on the 1953 were updated. All 1953's made before this time featured a stacked single coil in the bridge along with a push/pull on the tone knob to allow user to split it.
Alder is a medium-weight wood that produces a well-balanced tone with a strong mid-range, bright highs and moderate bass. It is known for its warm and full sound, making it a versatile material for a variety of musical styles.
The T-model is a type of electric guitar based on the Fender Telecaster design. It has a distinctive, simple body with a pair of single-coil pickups that offer a clear, crisp, and punchy tone. T-model guitars are known for their versatility and sturdy construction, suitable for a wide variety of musical styles from country to rock.
The maple fingerboard is valued for its smoothness and strength, while offering excellent playability and a clear, articulate sound. It is popular for its bright appearance and its ability to maintain accurate and detailed sound while playing.
Maple is known for its strength and stability, making it ideal for necks that need to resist bending and warping.
