The XJ-1 HT marks the return of this great guitar shape to the LTD offerings, but with a much more distinctive design and feature set built for the modern musician. Built with bolt-on construction at 25.5” scale, the XJ-1 HT offers a textured sandblasted Black Blast finish on its swamp ash body. It makes use of a sturdy and reliable bolt-on three-piece thin U-shaped roasted maple neck, as well as a tilt-back reverse headstock that’s great for maintaining string tension at lower tunings. The XJ-1 HT offers a Macassar ebony fingerboard with pearloid block inlays and 22 extra-jumbo stainless steel frets. Components on this superb instrument include LTD locking tuners and a Hipshot hardtail bridge with strings thru body. The flexible sonic character of the XJ-1 HT comes from its Fluence Open Core Classic bridge pickup with multiple voices accessible via push-pull control.
Macassar ebony is a hard, dense wood with a distinctive striped pattern in shades of black and brown. It offers a clear, crisp tone with excellent response and sustain. The Macassar ebony fingerboard is valued for its luxurious appearance and durability. This contributes to the precise playability and longevity of the instrument.
Humbucker configuration means that the guitar is equipped with a single humbucker pickup. This setup offers a powerful, full-bodied tone with high output and low noise, making it ideal for styles such as rock and metal where a punchy, distorted sound is desired.
Swamp ash is a lightweight, open-grained wood that produces a bright and dynamic tone with punchy highs, solid lows, and an expressive mid-range. It is valued for its resonance and natural sustain, making it suitable for a wide range of musical styles.
Flamed maple is a wood that has undergone a heat treatment process to increase its hardness, stability and resistance to changes in humidity and temperature. This material provides a clear, well-balanced tone with a fast response time and excellent sustain. Flamed maple also has a darker, caramel tone that gives the guitar an attractive appearance.
Offset guitar refers to a type of electric guitar with an asymmetrical body shape, where the bottom is offset from the top. This design improves comfort when playing while seated. Examples of this are the Fender Jazzmaster and the Jaguar. Offset guitars are popular in alternative and indie music genres.
