Marty Schwartz, or as he’s better known on the Internet, Marty Music, has been the face of guitar education online for the last decade and a half. His new namesake signature model ES-335 from Epiphone features a smooth-playing 60s SlimTaper Rounded C neck profile with an Indian laurel fretboard, small pearloid block inlays, and a Marty Music logo on the back of the headstock. The 5-ply layered maple body is capped with a beautiful AAA-figured maple veneer and is finished in Sixties Cherry. Rock solid tuning stability is ensured by the Grover 502C Roto-Grip Locking Rotomatic tuners and Graph Tech nut, while the other ends of the strings are anchored with an Epiphone LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and Stop Bar tailpiece. The flexible electronics include Epiphone Alnico Classic PRO pickups, each with a push/pull volume control for coil splitting, while the neck pickup’s tone control features a push/pull phase switch. A hardshell case is also included.
The guitar features a mahogany neck for excellent strength and stability. Mahogany is known for its great resonance, contributing to a warm, rich tone with a distinctive mid-range.
Indian Laurel is a medium hard wood with a fine texture and a warm brown tone. It offers a balanced tone with a slightly softer response than ebony or maple. The Indian Laurel fingerboard is valued for its durability and feel, while offering a visually appealing and affordable alternative to more expensive woods.
The humbucker-humbucker configuration means that the guitar is equipped with two humbucker pickups. It offers a powerful, full sound with high output and low noise, ideal for rock and metal.
The glossy finish gives any surface an elegant and luxurious look. This type of finish is achieved by applying several layers of lacquer or resin, which are then polished to a high gloss. This provides a smooth, reflective finish, enhancing color and structure of substrate. The glossy finish not only improves aesthetics, but also protects against dust, moisture and minor scratches.
