Fazit: Sehr empfehlenswert!

The sound is very similar to the original (OCD), which is no longer produced. In my opinion, the bass sounds a little less tight, although this is put into perspective when used with various amps. A good, versatile pedal for British voiced clean, crunch and heavy overdrive sounds. The Shift Off option is even suitable as a subtle booster, while Shift On delivers more bite and sounds more like Plexi. I like the sound much better than a Tube Screamer or a Klon Centaur or similar distortion pedals. A good pedal, although not quite as authentic as the PlexiTone, for example, but can be adjusted to cleaner or slightly distorted sounds, but is still very convincing for the typical heavy sounds that this type of pedal is known for. (The Glove is more of a typical pre-pedal, the PlexiTone more of an amp-in-a-box, so it depends on the intended use.) The 9V / 18V option is useful, even if I prefer the stepless 9-18V option of the original, I usually chose 15V. With the Glove, I think the 9V setting sounds better anyway. If you play a Fender amp, you can give it a bit more WEM, Vox, but especially Marshall (Plexi) character with the Glove, drive a Plexi (or similar) hotter, or give a Mesa Boogie a bit more British flair. It even sounds quite convincing on its own, as a simple, yet good-sounding bedroom solution for at home. (I have a small but good 1.5 W power amplifier, which, together with a reasonably good cabinet, allows me to get sounds at room volume that many tube amps (at least at this volume) don't necessarily produce.) Since the original is now more expensive than it was originally sold for, which wasn't exactly cheap, you can't really go wrong with the price of the Glove if you're looking for this kind of sound. It also sounds much better and more authentic than various, even cheaper Chinese copies. I've tested a few, but they sounded too different to the original to me, too tame, too colorless, the gain range wasn't right... Conclusion: Highly recommended!
